LATEST NEWS Moneylender arrested for giving out personal loan at high interest

May 1, 2012

LATEST NEWS Moneylender arrested for giving out personal loan at high interest. A money lender has been arrested for lending money to persons at high rate of interest and blank cheques, stamp papers, records and mobiles recovered from him, police said. The man, who was arrested yesterday, was lending money to people at a high interest of 15 to 20 per cent and had a business turnover of over Rs 50 lakh, they said.

Meanwhile, in the U.S. Lending to small business is slowing, a sign that companies are losing confidence in the economy.

A study released Tuesday by PayNet, a research firm that tracks loans to small business, shows that lending fell 3 percent in March.

The Thomson Reuters/PayNet Small Business Lending Index was at 98.5 in March, down from a revised 101.8 in February. The index had reached 110.5 in December, when companies were rushing to acquire equipment before the expiration of tax deductions at the end of 2011. PayNet’s analysis shows that lending is up 10 percent from a year ago, but it’s also down to the level where it was in 2005.

The drop in the index is in line with other economic reports that have pointed to a slowing of the economy. On Friday, the government said the economy as measured by the gross domestic product grew at an annual rate of 2.2 percent in the first quarter, down from 3 percent in the final three months of 2011. On Monday, the Commerce Department reported that consumer spending rose in March, but at a slower rate than in February.

Many companies have been hesitant to borrow since the recession because they have been uncertain about the economy. They want to be sure that the economy and their sales are growing solidly before they take on debt. The recent reports are likely to make them even more cautious.

PayNet forecast that “uncertainty may be the prevailing condition until the results of the November election.”

William Phelan, president of PayNet, was taken aback by the found the latest index reading because companies could be borrowing at interest rates that remain at record lows.

“This is particularly striking given the lowest credit risk since 2005 and an outlook for low risk through year-end 2012,” Phelan said.

PayNet bases its index on new commercial loans and leases granted to small businesses in its database.

Because of this my monthly pay is not enough to clear my own family bills, kids school fee etc. This is becoming a Big headache n stressful for me. My family does not know what i had done thats the worst part. Ive tried applied personal loans from banks hopefully if approved i can clear my lians but all my applications was rejected. I have try asking varioys moneylenders to offer me consolidation loans but none could help. Please anyone out there who has any suggestions or solutions to help me please leave me a comment or email me. I am all ears to hear any suggestions or advices if possible any Solutions to settle my probs. Thank you all for reading my blog.

Guys, this is my sincere advice: Avoid taking up personal loan, cash loan or payday loan from the following moneylenders located in Middle Road, Bencoolen Street, Rochor Road, Bugis, Chinatown, Tanjong Pagar, Beach Road, Victoria Street, Jalan Sultan, Jurong or Fortune Centre, Golden Landmark, Textile Centre, Goldenmile, Pearl Centre, International Plaza, People’s Park Centre, IMM Bldg & Orchard Tower. These are EXTREME blood suckers with no ethics, worse than loan sharks!

My brother in law recently took up 11 loans (Payday loans, Bad Credit Loans and personal loans) from the mentioned locations. He was struggling to pay but he did PAY UP. At most he was ever late for 1 to 2 days, apart from increasing the penalty amount quite horribly, the mentioned moneylenders sent debt collectors to harass his work place and home. He was sacked by his employer during the day 2 of his due date in payment- when 4 debt collectors shouted for him to “come out & pay” “O $ P $” & etc outside his office which the entrance was blocked by card access system.

He consolidated his debts thru SGmoney licensed moneylenders recently, high interest still, but at least no such harassment like before.

Our family only only SGmoney recommended list of licensed moneylenders for our personal loan, cash loan and payday loan applications, like my dad said it correctly, so many followers, borrowers and believers supporting www.sgmoney.sg (Followers exceeded 3000 this week) so can’t be wrong. My sister had too many credit cards, got into cash flow problems last year, she just got her bad credit loan approved last week- after applying online via http://sgmoney.sg/online.html

Depends on whether its’ Legal or Illegal Moneylenders ya…
The 1st type usually will call you prior to payment due date, on the day of payment followed by Late Payment calls- Which may be visits to your home/ office.
There are some moneylenders (Which are already mentioned in this forum to avoid at all cost- Check the blacklisted moneylenders in Singapore- Location and their office buildings were mentioned by several borrowers here) whom will curse your parents, harass your neighbors & even inform your employers, so make sure borrow only from SGmoney recommended list of moneylenders.

Never even think about getting personal loan, payday loan, cash loan or bad credit loan from Illegal Money Lenders, they may even lock you up in your own flat, set fire to your door, write your name & contact numbers all over your block and much much more “creative” ways to get back their money.

Brother & sisters in this forum, if you borrow, Must Return In Time, if you can’t do so, Do Not Borrow at all, don’t get yourself or family members into unnecessary stress & trouble. If you need $2000 just to solve problems, don’t try to get $5000
You will get what I mean soon if you are stubborn.

Thanks for all the valuable sharing of experience in personal loan application friends, borrowers of SGmoney Forum.
Here’s my 2cents worth of experience, hope this will help prevent more instances of unfortunate borrowing experiences among the forum contributors.
In Feb this year, I took up a payday loan from one moneylender in Tanjong Pagar area, I was impressed with the way they showcase their exterior which to me was a very professional/ executive or even corporate image. To my surprise, in March when I was quite caught up with too many expenses to cope, I missed my payment for 1.5 days, this so called “corporate” money lender sent collectors to my workplace and demand payment from the first person that opened the door- Which happened to be my boss.

My boss did not sack me, but asked me not to bring problems to the work place, which I felt I didn’t, the only mistake made is to borrow from such lenders. Brainless. The name of this infamous money lender sounds like million/ zillion. Good luck to bros & sisters whom judges books by the covers.
Now I only apply for loans recommended by SGmoney, some are located at HDB areas, simple looking, but who cares? It solve my problems without “More problems”.
I used http://sgmoney.sg/online4.html
My current 3 personal loans are from http://www.qvcredit.com.sg/online.htm
http://sgmoney.sg/ct3.html
and http://www.unitedcredit.com.sg/online.html whom approved a $2,850 payday loan to me recently

Most likely because you did not state your NAME. Do you have a name? Coming in to SG #1 Forum on Loans/ Borrowers/ Moneylenders and you simply throw a question like the whole world owe you a living? Where are your manners? Your parents/ school teachers never teach you to be polite? You will never get good advice by being dumb/ rude. Wake up la clown……

To the nameless poster, next time just indicate your log in name la… U want to find out info yet want to be rude…
Loan applicants are required to sign a form addressed to their employers and authorize the moneylender to claim the debt deductable from their monthly salary.
This way, debtors are unlikely to default due to possibility of embarrassment and humiliation in the event that the forms are sent to their employers and the possibility of losing their jobs. But this will actually be the really last resort as causing the debtor to lose their job will make it even harder to recover the loan.
